How to draft a quote with AI
Tell QuoteDash what the job needs, the way you would tell a helper, and it drafts the quote from your own price list. You stay in charge: you check and change every line before anything is sent.
Steps
- Tap New quote and open the capture panel at the top.
- Add up to 6 photos of the job, say what it needs using the microphone, or type it. You can use any mix of the three.
- Tap Draft quote with AI.
- Read the draft. Each line comes from your price list, and a list of things to check appears under it.
- Fix anything that is wrong, price any line marked Needs price, and save the quote.
Good to know
- Prices never come from the AI. It can only choose an item from your price list and a quantity, and QuoteDash fills in your own price. A line it can't match is marked Needs price, and the quote can't be saved until you price it.
- Voice notes use your browser's built-in dictation, which works in Chrome, Edge and Safari. In a browser without it, type your notes instead.
- The plan includes a monthly number of AI drafts. If you reach it, you can still build quotes by hand, and the count starts over on the 1st.
Questions
- Will the AI make up prices?
- No. It has no way to set a price. Every price comes from your own list.
- What if my price list is empty?
- Add some items first. The AI only quotes from your own prices.
