How to find customers and answer their messages
Everyone you quote is added to your customer list. From there you can find them, fix their details and see all their jobs. When a customer sends you a message from their quote, it shows up where you will see it.
Steps
- Open Customers. The most recent activity is at the top.
- Type in the search box to find someone by name, address, email or phone number.
- Tap a customer to see their jobs, what is open and what they have paid. Tap New quote to start another for them.
- To fix a phone number, email or address, change it on their page and save. The details are shared by all of their jobs.
- When a customer sends a message from their quote page, it appears on the quote under Customer messages, and on your dashboard.
- Reply by calling or texting them yourself, then tap Mark done on the message. Reopen brings it back if you need to.
Good to know
- QuoteDash doesn't send replies for you. A message tells you what the customer wants, and you answer it your own way.
- You are told when a message arrives if that is switched on in Settings.
- A phone number has to be one that can receive texts, such as (555) 201-7788, or QuoteDash asks you to fix it.
- If a customer replies STOP to one of your texts, QuoteDash stops texting that number. The text history on the quote shows the failed text and why. You can still call them or send the link another way.
Questions
- How do customers send me a message?
- Their quote page has a Questions or changes? box. They type a message and tap Send message, with no account needed.
- Why didn't my customer get a text?
- Open the quote or invoice and look at its text history, which shows each attempt and why one failed. Common causes are a mistyped number, a landline, or a customer who replied STOP.
