How to offer packages and optional add-ons
Give your customer a choice on one quote: packages to pick between, or extras they can tick to include.
Steps
- In the quote builder, find Line items and switch from One price to Packages.
- Put lines that belong in every option in the first box, Included in every option.
- Fill in each package with its own lines. You start with two, and can have up to three.
- To offer an extra, mark a line as an optional add-on. It stays out of the total until your customer ticks it.
- Send the quote as usual. Your customer chooses a package, ticks any add-ons, sees the new total, and accepts.
Good to know
- Before the customer chooses, the quote shows each package with its own total. The quote's stored total is the cheapest package.
- After they accept, the quote and the invoice show only the common lines, the package they chose and the add-ons they ticked.
- Packages are fixed once the customer accepts.
- Save as template isn't offered yet for a quote with packages.
Questions
- How many packages can I offer?
- Up to three, each with its own name.
- Does a percentage deposit follow the package?
- Yes. A percentage deposit is worked out again from the total the customer chose. A fixed dollar deposit stays as it is.
