How to schedule jobs and use the calendar
Give a job a planned start date and it shows up on the calendar. Your customer sees the date on their quote, and you can text it to them.
Steps
- Set a planned start date in the quote builder, or later in the Start date card on the quote page. Add a planned end date if you want one.
- Open the Calendar tab to see every scheduled job as a bar from its start to its end, one colour per job.
- Use the arrows to move to another month, and Today to come back.
- Tap a bar for its details, or tap a day to see what is on it. For today or a future day, tap Start a quote for this day to open a new quote with that start date filled in.
- To tell the customer, use the button under the date to text them the saved start date. If you move it later, the text says it has moved.
Good to know
- Solid bars are accepted jobs. Outlined bars are quotes that are not accepted yet.
- A job with no start date isn't on the calendar. A note counts how many open jobs have none.
- Settings has online scheduling: after accepting, your customer can pick a start date from the days you leave open.
- Dates are calendar days, so a job never slips a day because of a time zone.
Questions
- Can I change a date from the calendar?
- Yes. Tap a job's bar and use the date forms in its details.
- Can a job start in the past?
- A job that is already under way can have a start date in the past. A quote that is not accepted yet can't.
