How to show your license and insurance on quotes

Homeowners are letting someone they don't know into their home, so they look for signs they can trust you. You can add your license, your insurance, how long you have been in business and a few words about you. They appear in a small card on the quote your customer opens.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and find About your business.
  2. Enter your license number and the state, as two letters such as TX.
  3. Tick I carry liability insurance. If you know when the policy ends, enter the date under Policy expires.
  4. Enter how many years you have been in business.
  5. Add a few words about you, up to 300 characters, such as what you are known for.
  6. Check the preview under the boxes, which shows what your customer will see, then tap Save.

Good to know

  • Everything on the card is entered by you. QuoteDash does not check it, and the card says so, so only enter what is true.
  • Every box is optional and only the lines you fill in appear. If you fill in nothing, no card is shown.
  • When the insurance expiry date passes, that line disappears from your quotes, so you never show a lapsed policy. Settings tells you when it happens, and a new date shows it again.
  • The card is on the quote page your customer opens, and on your own preview of it. It is not on the downloaded PDF.

Questions

Does QuoteDash check my license or insurance?
No. The card shows what you enter and tells the customer it was entered by the contractor. They can look a license up with their state.
Do I have to enter an expiry date?
No. Without one, the line says Insurance on file and stays until you untick the box.
